Re-Pair is a story-driven platformer puzzle browser game, in which the player manipulates time in an attempt to save their lost lover. Create and interact with your time clone in order to navigate a puzzling and deadly dystopian cyber-scape.

Project Overview

We are looking to continue development on this game over the course of the next year through the 170 Series. We currently intend to port the game to Unity VR. If you are interested in joining the team, click the link below!

The core mechanics of the game are basic platformer movement and the ability to go back in time. When the player goes back in time, they are temporarily able to interact with their past self, which we refer to as their Time Clone. The Time Clone continues to carry out the player’s past actions and eventually de-spawns when time catches up with itself.

The dynamics of the game involve using this time clone to overcome various obstacles and puzzles, including unlocking doors, avoiding enemy mechs, and occasionally jumping on your own head for an extra boost of height. As the player progresses, they become more competent with time reversal, and the puzzles become increasingly complex and require greater precision.

We wanted the game to have an aesthetic that was futuristic and a little dystopian. The art was created with that in mind and inspired by the game Ruiner, these influences can be seen in the overall design and aesthetics of the game, through the dark tones in the colors and the cyberpunk aesthetic of our character and the levels.
